I usually put 3 layers of clear varnish over the top of the
stain to seal, help protect and for a shinier look like the
frame styles above or I can leave them alone, but they
do tend to fade over time when not protected.
I also can get store bought frames of different sizes
and colors. Most of the smaller ones get those, but I
can get raw frame material and paint it any color too.
