The above photograph is a 4ft x 2ft Harley Davidson logo with wings made entirely by hand out of glass. What I mean by
"entirely by hand" is that it was hand cut with a hand held glass cutter not cut by a scroll saw.  The frame was also
fabricated and stained by hand out of 3/4in oak plywood.  I worked 22 years as  a professional glazer doing residential
and commercial glass work in California and Arizona.  One of the things I saw in someone's house was a jellybean shaped
glass table top that had 3 different colors of glass stacked and glued on top of each other yet every layer was a couple of
inches smaller than the others which gave it a cool 3D effect. I thought "Wow, I can do the same thing only out of different
shapes." The shape that became my trademark was the heart.  I would start with a bronze mirror, then cut a clear mirror
smaller, then cut a grey mirror even smaller then glue all 3 together and voila!  You have a 3D mirror effect.  I then
thought it would be cool to experiment with more colors and shapes, but then I found out that colored glass or "Stained
Glass" was not readily available to the commercial glass industry.  After leaving the commercial glass business I finally
got to explore my dream to combine the two elements in a different way.  As you can see I take the stained glass and cut
the patterns then glue them to a mirror.  That gives it a three-dimensional look rather then a two-dimensional look
without the silver borders.  You also don't need a lot of light for them to be seen and appreciated, plus they are much
more durable than your typical stained glass product.
When I started experimenting I searched for small easy patterns, so I printed out
some pre-drawn stained glass patterns and made some 8in x 10in projects using my
own technique.
Then I decided to get pictures instead and make my own
patterns, frames and etching. I soon realized that the sky
was the limit !
For the fine detailing, such as the tiger's whiskers, the
chopper's rims, spark plug wires and the car's rims and vent,  I
had to use paint because it is impossible to cut glass that small.
The bigger the project, the more glass details are possible to
have.
Full glass pictures can
also be made.
As you can see there is almost no end to what can be done.  If you would like to have a project done for you, then let
me know.  Price depends on size, detail, or whether you want a  frame and what type.  The best thing to do is write to
me with all your questions at: rainbowrider27@yahoo.com and I will give you all the answers.  I have numerous
clients, all of  whom have been very happy with their glass projects and I hope to count you as one of them.  Thank
you and I'll talk to you soon.
